Bronx, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Cross Country squad got great performances from
Joanne Mundo (Fort Hamilton / Brooklyn, NY) and
Daisy Bugarin (Mountain View / Los Angeles, CA), who each medalled, however they could not repeat last year's championship run, as they finished in 4th place on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.
The team finished with 88 points, falling behind champion Baruch, 2nd place York and 3rd place Hunter, who all were within 9 points of each other.
Hunter's Elizabeth Mahoney (Auburn / Auburn, NY) was the first to complete the race, finishing first with a time of 24:53, nearly two minutes ahead of the nearest competitor.
Mundo, the reigning rookie of the year in the conference, finished 4th overall for the second consecutive year, clocking in at 26:55 the 6K race.
Bugarin showed tremendous hear, finishing 11th overall at a time of 29:00 while running with a leg injury that almost scratched her from the race.
Khrystyna Uhlitskykh (Fiorello H. Laguardia / Brooklyn, NY) finished with a time of 30:41.
Julie Davolos (CC of Philadelphia / New York, NY) came in at 31:57 while
Leah Wimpfheimer (Brien McMahon / Norwalk, CT) finished ten seconds later.
