Flushing, NY---For the second consecutive season a Brooklyn College women's cross country runner has won the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year Award.  This season's winner was first-year runner Daisy Bugarin (Mountain View / Los Angeles, CA).

Bugarin had an outstanding rookie season as she medalled in four races, including an 11th place finish at the CUNYAC Championship.  The finish, was actually her lowest placement of the season, but was maybe her most remarkable as she battled through a severe leg injury to finish the course in 29:00.

She also helped lead BC to a first place finish at the Brooklyn College Invitational on October 11th as she finished 4th overall in the 6K race.

Bugarin will look to follow up this award in her sophomore season with the team next Fall.
