Chester, PA---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team (10-5) won their fifth straight on Monday afternoon as senior guard
Thomas Guerin (St. Edmund Prep / Brooklyn, NY) took a pass from
Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) and knocked down a mid-range jumper as time expired, giving BC the 67-65 win over Widener (9-7).
Guerin, who scored 11 in the contest, put in a basket with 1:57 remaining to give his team a four point advantage, 65-61. Widener then scored the next four points, including a put back with 27 seconds remaining to tie the game at 65.
Brooklyn held for the last possession, allowing Guerin to be the game's hero, as the team won in dramatic fashion.
Jean-Baptiste, who played all 40 minutes, scored 23 points, while gathering nine rebounds, collecting four steals, and blocking two shots.
The Bulldogs will return to CUNYAC action Wednesday when the will host City College at 7:30. The team will be looking for their sixth straight conference win.
