Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (12-8) cruised to a 68-51 win over non-conference foe, Albertus Magnus College (8-12) on Monday evening. With the win, BC improved their streak to three straight, while AMC, winners of six of their last eight, fell to BC for the second straight season.
Albertus Magnus opened the game by jumping out to a 3-0 lead, however it was the only lead they would enjoy for the remainder of the game as Brooklyn's
Priscilla Ramirez (FDR / Brooklyn, NY) answered right back with a three to tie the score at three and then after the team's traded hoops, the Bulldogs went on a 17-5 run, to extend to a 22-10 lead.
In the second half of play, the lead grew to as many as 21 as Brooklyn's pressure forced 32 turnovers, leading to 17 steals by the Bulldogs. BC also dominated the paint, outrebounding AMC 47-38.
Frances Lyons (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) was the evening's top performer, scoring 24 points on eight for 12 from the field.
Ramirez had a nice all-around game, scoring 15 points, grabbing 18 boards and nabbing four steals in 25 minutes of action.
Joelle Laurenceau (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) played some nice minutes off the BC bench, chipping in with four points and adding a pair of assists.
Albertus Magnus had three starters who paced the team with 12 points a piece.
