Fast Start Lifts BC Women Over City Tech, 68-53

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (14-8, 8-3 CUNYAC) jumped out to a 34-10 in the first 17:30 of Saturday afternoon's game and never looked back, defeating City Tech (3-19, 1-10 CUNYAC) 68-53.

With Brooklyn already leading 17-8, Priscilla Ramirez (FDR / Brooklyn, NY) knocked down two consecutive three-pointers, extending the lead to 15.  Ramirez would lead BC with 14 points and four steals in 21 minutes of play.  

Sabrina Washington (Elmira Free / Elmira, NY) came off the Bulldog bench to chip in with nine points and add a pair of assists, while starting guard Amber Gordon (Bishop Loughlin / Brooklyn, NY) filled her stat line with eight points, six rebounds, and four assists in just 19 minutes.

Guards Ariel Smith (Wallkill / Newburgh, NY) and Elisha Raiford (William C. Bryant / Long Island City, NY) tied for the team-high with six assists a piece.

Justine O'Callahan (Floral Park / Floral Park, NY) had a team-high seven rebounds and chipped in with eight points.

Christine Jackson (ENY Family / Brooklyn, NY) led Tech with 18 points.

Brooklyn will be home on Wednesday to take on Staten Island in a battle for first place in the CUNYAC South Division as both teams are currently 8-3 in conference play.
