Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team (2-0, 2-0 CUNYAC) started their season with a conference sweep of a home doubleheader against City Tech (0-2, 0-2 CUNYAC) on Tuesday afternoon.
The victory in game one marked the first collegiate victory for coach Bill Dumont, who was making his debut at the helm for BC.

The Bulldogs were sharp in game one as Nicole Barrasso (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) hurled a one-hit shutout, striking out eight in the 16-0 victory.

Game two saw the Bulldogs fall behind for the first time this season as BC starting pitcher Ashley Allen (William C. Bryant / Sunnyside, NY) gave up a walk and then a run on a wild pitch.  Allen settled down to get out of trouble in the first.  She pitched into the third inning, striking out four, before being replaced by Barrasso.

Allen gave her team all they needed as the Bulldogs earned a 16-2 victory.  Maresca and Morro continued to torch the Yellow Jacket pitching, combining to go 3-3, with five walks, five runs scored, and three RBI.
