Jean-Baptiste Named ECAC Division III Metro First-Team All-Star and D3Hoops.com All-Atlantic Region First Team

Cape Cod, MA --- The Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) and D3Hoops.com have each announced their all-star voting today. Richard Jean-Baptiste was named to the ECAC Division III Metro Men's Basketball All-Star First Team and to the D3Hoops.com Men's All-Atlantic Region First Team. 

After completing a steller senior season, Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) led the Bulldogs to their second straight CUNYAC Championship and earned the team's second NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship bid. He averaged 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks on the season. He also took over as the Brooklyn College All-Time Scoring Leader, with 1,847 points in his career. Jean-Baptiste was named CUNYAC First Team All-Star and as the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Championships Tournament MVP. He has also been selected to participate in the inaugural NABC Division III Senior All-Star Game in Salem, VA on March 20.

For the ECAC Division III Metro All-Stars, Marcel Ensonwune of York was named as Player of the Year and Hunter's Eric Klingsberg was named Rookie of the Year. Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez of York and Vaughn Mason of John Jay earned First Team and Second Team honors respectively. 

In the D3Hoops.com voting, Esonwune and Klingsberg repeated as Player and Rookie of the Year respectively. Mason was named to the First Team, while Lionel Hillaire and George Kunkel of Baruch were named to the Second Team.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference is the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with 319 member institutions and over 122,000 student-athletes ranging from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois. The ECAC publicizes the achievements of over 750 student-athletes annually through the postseason all-stars. In women's basketball, the ECAC awards one Division II all-star team and four regional Division III all-star teams (New England, Upstate, Metro, and South).
