Kansas City, MO --- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the rosters for the inaugural NABC Division III Senior All-Star Game, and
Richard Jean-Baptiste has been named to the NABC East All-Star roster. The NABC Senior All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, March 20 at 10:30 am in the Salem Civic Center in Salem, VA as a part of the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships.
The teams, East All-Stars vs. West All-Stars, are comprised of two players from each of the eight regions in the NCAA's Division III.
Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) and Josh Sharlow (Norwood, NY) of St. Lawrence University were selected as the representatives of the Atlantic Region.
Jean-Baptiste had a stellar senior season, leading the Bulldogs to their second straight CUNYAC Championship and earning NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship bid. He averaged 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.07 steals, 2.03 assists, and 1.39 blocks on the season. He also took over as the Brooklyn College All-Time Scoring Leader, with 1,847 points in his career. Jean-Baptiste was named a ECAC Division III Metro First Team All-Star, D3Hoops.com Men's Atlantic Region First Team All-Star, CUNYAC First Team All-Star, and as the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Championships Tournament MVP.
The coaches for the teams are former coaches who have received the NABC Division III Distinguished Service Award. Former University of Wisconsin-River Falls coach Rick Bowen will lead the West team while Dr. Mike Beitzel, who coached for 20 seasons at Hanover College, will guide the East team.

Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently claims nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.
