Jean-Baptiste Scores 13 While Helping East To Overtime Win In NABC Senior All-Star Game

Salem, Va. --- Two halves just wasn't enough, as the East All-Star Team defeated the West All-Stars 109-107 in overtime in the inaugural NABC Division III Senior All-Star Game held Saturday, March 20 in at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. as a precursor to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) tallied 13 points, three assists, and a pair of rebounds while playing 21 minutes in the event. Of the experience, Jean-Baptiste said, “The environment was just amazing, I enjoyed every minute of it.”

The East All-Star Team was very well-balanced, with seven players scoring in double figures. Darnell Braswell of DeSales University was the high scorer on the team, with 16 points. Terrell Hollins of Brandeis University tied with Dustin Mitchell, UW-Whitewater, of the West team with game high 13 rebounds.

The high scorer on the day was the West's Clay Henson of Guilford, with 35 points on 13 of 19 shooting.

“The other players were all great basketball player, definitely some of the best in the country,” said Jean-Baptiste of his fellow All-Stars.
