Jean-Baptiste Named to All-Met First Team

White Plains, NY --- The National Invitational Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association announced their all-stars on Friday and Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) was named First Team All-Met in Division III.

In leading the Bulldogs to the CUNYAC / Con Edison Championship, Jean-Baptiste averaged 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.07 steals, 2.03 assists, and 1.39 blocks on the season. Jean-Baptiste's play earned him both national and regional honors this past season. He was named to the 2010 State Farm® Division III All-American Third Team, the 2010 Division III All-District First Team – Atlantic Region, and selected to participate in the NABC Senior All-Star Game as a member of the East All-Star Team. Jean-Baptiste was also named a CUNYAC First Team All-Star and recognized as the CUNYAC / Con Edison Tournament's Most Valuable Player. He also earned an ECAC Division III Metro First Team All-Star bid and was named a D3Hoops.com Men's Atlantic Region First Team All-Star.

On February 14th in a 102-86 victory over the College of Staten Island, Jean-Baptiste forever etched his name in the Brooklyn College record books, as he surpassed Rich Micallef (1980-1984) to become the school's all-time leading scorer, with 1,741 points. Jean-Baptiste would eventually finish his stellar career with 1,847 points.
