Box Score
Bronx, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (16-16-1) fell to the John Jay Bloodhounds (12-19) in the first round of the 2010 CUNYAC Softball Tournament on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 12-0. John Jay will advance to the double elimination round of the tournament, joining Baruch, Staten Island and Hunter.
Nelly Vega (In-Tech Academy / Bronx, NY) got John Jay on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run off Bulldog hurler
Lissette Andares (William C. Bryan / Sunnyside, NY).
The run proved to be all the Bloodhounds would need as their starting pitcher, Angela Lam (Newtown / Brooklyn, NY), tossed a complete game shutout. Andares would give up all 12 runs for BC, however only 6 were earned.
Norah Marley (Bishop Kearney / Brooklyn, NY) led the game off for BC with a single, however the Bulldogs next three batters would be sent down in order.
Jenna Ferrara (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) and
Samantha Lombardi (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) also chipped in with singles in the loss.
The Bulldogs will hope their season has not ended as they still have an outside shot at a berth in the upcoming ECAC Tournament.
