Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Office of Recreation, Intramurals & Intercollegiate Athletics held a ceremonial opening for the West Quad Center Pool earlier today, July 12th. The ceremony included former members of the BC Swimming team, Jim Spellman ('74), Rich McCluskey ('76) and Sean Kellar ('76), who were the first swimmers to jump into the brand new pool. Spellman is also a member of the Brooklyn College Athletics Hall of Fame.

The pool is now open for recreational use by the Brooklyn College community, as well as the general outside community. Hours of operation for the pool are as follows:

Monday – Thursday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Friday – Saturday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm
