Justine O'Callahan has been named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Con Edison Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending January 22nd.
O'Callahan played a vital role in helping guide the Bulldogs a 2-0 week with wins over conference rivals Lehman College (59-54) and Baruch College (64-48), as the Floral Park, NY native averaged a double-double with 11.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.0% (10-20) from the field. O'Callahan also averaged 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game for the week.
Coming against Lehman on 1/18, O'Callahan recorded a double-double with 11 points and a season and team-high 15 rebounds, to go along with four assists and three steals.
Later on in the week on 1/21 against Baruch, the reigning four-time CUNYAC Champions, O'Callahan just missed her second double-double of the week, with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The pair of wins also keeps the Bulldogs as the lone remaining undefeated team in CUNYAC play at 6-0.
Brooklyn (12-5 overall) is in action tonight against non-conference foe New Jersey City University, with tip-off slated for 5:30 pm in Jersey City, NJ.
