Bronx, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Swimming team remained in fourth place, while the Women's Swimming team moved up to fifth place after the second day of the 2012 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Applebee's Swimming & Diving Championships being held at the APEX Aquatic Center on the campus of Lehman College.

On the women's side, the team of Jenny Lee, Catherine Chan, Valentina Monroy and Megan Pendergast posted a fifth place finish in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:14.93.

Monroy also had a strong showing in the 400-Yard IM with a time of 5:36.15, good for third place; while Lee took home a top-10 finish in the 100-Yard Butterfly, with a time of 1:19.96, good for ninth.

Coming in the 200-Yard Freestyle, Pendergast posted a time of 2:22.64, good for fifth place overall; while Stephanie Caravello recorded an eighth place finish in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:18.51.

The quartet of Lee, Caravello, Pendergast and Monroy placed fifth in the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 9:52.35.

On the men's side, James Marty, Patrick O'Leary-Gullo and Maksim Kravtsov finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400-Yard IM, with times of 5:30.27, 5:47.80 and 5:51.92.

Antonio Gaspar registered a 10th place finish in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:30.24, while Brian Fay and Anthony Sideris both posted top-10 finishes in the 200-Yard Freestyle, with times of 2:27.35 and 2:59.55, good for fifth and eighth, respectively.

Brian Clarke came in seventh place in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:15.26, while Ka Ho Yeung came in 10th place in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:23.64.

In the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay, Fay, Marty, O'Leary-Gullo and Kravtsov came in fourth place with a time of 9:16.15.

The championships conclude tomorrow, Saturday, with the final day of events at the APEX Aquatic Center on the campus of Lehman College beginning at 9:00 am.
