Centerville, MA --- Sophomore Kayla Hill and freshman Samantha Rodriguez have been named to the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Softball All-Star Teams, as voted on by the coaches in the region.

Hill was named to the All-Star First Team; while Rodriguez was named to the All-Star Second Team.

Hill, the 2013 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Player of the Year, made an immediate impact in her first season in Brooklyn, posting an 11-8 overall record in the circle, to go along with a 3.01 ERA. In 123.1 innings of work, Hill struck out 76 batters, making 20 starts with 17 complete games. At the plate, Hill batted .333 (43-for-129) with 20 RBI and 25 runs scored, to go along with seven doubles, six triples and a home run. She also posted a .504 slugging percentage and a .348 on base percentage. Hill came to BC after playing her freshman season at NCAA Division II Pace University.

Rodriguez, a 2013 CUNYAC First Team All-Star, made a major impact in her rookie season with the Bulldogs, starting in all 40 games on the year behind the plate, while putting up an outstanding .397 (48-for-121) batting average with 29 RBI and 30 runs scored, to go along with six doubles, five triples and a home run. She also posted a .554 slugging percentage and a .471 on base percentage.

Hill and Rodriguez played instrumental roles in helping to guide BC to a 23-17 overall record, setting a new program benchmark for wins in a single season. The team advanced to day two of the CUNYAC Championships as the #3 seed and also earned a selection into the ECAC Metro Championships as the #7 seed.
