Egzon Gjonbalaj Named December Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month
Sophomore guard/forward Egzon Gjonbalaj continues to make his presence felt on the Men’s Basketball team, filling up the stat sheet in the month of December averaging 16.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.8 assists and 1.0 block per game.
Gjonbalaj played in all five games in the month, while making two starts.
In BC’s first game of the month, an overtime loss against Vaughn College on December 4th, Gjonbalaj finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds and three steals.
In Brooklyn’s next game, a loss against conference foe Staten Island on December 6th, Gjonbalaj was limited to five points and three rebounds.
Gjonbalaj would bounce back dropping 20 points, going 5-for-10 from beyond the arc, to go with five rebounds, four steals and three blocks in a loss against York on December 10th. In the Bulldogs’ next game, on December 11th against non-conference regional foe Old Westbury, Gjonbalaj finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Gjonbalaj closed out the month with a career-high 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field and 3-for-7 shooting from three, to go along with six rebounds, to help lead Brooklyn to a win over CUNYAC and borough foe Medgar Evers, snapping BC’s four-game losing streak.
For his efforts, Egzon Gjonabalaj has been named the BC Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of December.
