Head Athletic Trainer: Jason Fish, M.Ac., ATC-L, NASM-CES
Jason Fish is in his 11th year as Head Athletic Trainer at Brooklyn College where he delivers the highest standard of care for student athletes. His philosophy of athletic training is "a quick return to performance through evidence-based practices, progressive rehabilitation and skilled manual therapy." Using the latest research, techniques and modalities, Jason effectively reduces the time that an athlete cannot play due to injury as well as helping prevent future injury or re-injury.
Prior to coming to Brooklyn College, Jason's was Head Athletic Trainer at Lasell College in Newton, MA and at the Caribbean Health and Fitness Complex on St. Croix, USVI before that. His other professional experiences include positions as Head Athletic Trainer at Lynn English High School in Massachusetts and Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Maine - Presque Isle.
Jason received his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1999 and his Master's degree from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2002. He is certified by the Athletic Trainer's Board of Certification and a licensed Athletic Trainer in New York and Massachusetts.

Team Physician: Dr. William Urban, MD
Dr. Urban and his sports medicine team at SUNY Downstate provide team physician services for Brooklyn College athletes and oversee athletic training services. He is the chief of the Division of Sports Medicine and the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate.
Dr. Urban studied at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he completed his residency followed by a fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and shoulder and knee surgery.

FACILITIES, SERVICES AND HOURS
Facilities
The Brooklyn College Athletic Training Room is located in the room 016 of the West Quad Building on Brooklyn College's west campus. The state of the art athletic training facility features the latest modalities, a large hydrotherapy area and a comprehensive line of rehabilitation equipment.
Services
The following services are available for Brooklyn College student athletes.
- Injury evaluation and treatment for sport-related injuries
- Modalities (Electrotherapy, Ultrasound, GameReady®, Cervical traction, Ice, Heat)
- Game and practice coverage by a licensed and certified athletic trainer
- Referrals to team physician
- Corrective Exercise/Injury Prevention Clinic (6 week program offered every summer)
- Pre-participation physical examination (once a year in the summer)
Hours
When classes are in session the Athletic Training Room will be open:
Monday – Friday: 1 PM until 30 minutes after the scheduled end of the last practice of the day
Weekends: ½ hour before the first scheduled practice and ½ hour after the last scheduled practice
Games: 2 hours before the schedule start and ½ hour after the official end of the game
VISITING TEAM INFORMATION
For visiting teams:
A Certified Athletic Trainer will be present at least 2 hours before and ½ hour after all home events.

*TEAMS MUST BRING A FULLY STOCKED KIT IN ORDER TO GET TAPED. ATHLETES WILL NOT GET TAPED IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THE TAPE NECESSARY FOR THEIR TAPE JOB. (EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID CARE WILL BE PROVIDED IN ALL CASES)
