Shokhrukh Nosirov Named Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month for December
Sophomore Shokhrukh Nosirov had a stellar individual performance for the Brooklyn College Men’s Swimming & Diving team, as the first-year member posted four first place finishes in BC’s two meets in the month.
Against City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) foe College of Staten Island on December 3rd, Nosirov helped lead the Bulldogs to a first place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:40.90. Nosirov swam the first leg of the meet, followed by Jonathan Boyce, Umut Tanritanir and finally Daniel Posada.
Nosirov was also a part of the 200-Yard Medley Relay team that posted a time of 1:55.76, good for second place. The foursome included Nosirov, who anchored the team with the Freestyle, to go with Maged Mahmoud (Backstroke), Maksym Soloninko (Breaststroke) and Daniel Posada (Butterfly).
In his individual event, the 100-Yard Freestyle, Nosirov posted a third place finish with a time of 54.35.
The Abraham Lincoln High School product had his best performance of the month in a non-conference meet against Purchase College on December 10th, accounting for three first place finishes to help lead the Bulldogs to a 105-93 win.
Swimming the first leg of the 200-Yard Medley Relay, the Backstroke, Nosirov helped spark the quartet to a first place finish with a time of 1:56.90. Soloninko (Breaststroke), Posada (Butterfly) and Boyce (Freestyle) joined Nosirov in the medley relay.
In his individual event, the 50-Yard Freestyle, Nosirov was the first swimmer to touch the wall with a time of 24.37.
In the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, Nosirov started off the relay to help lead Brooklyn to a first place finish with a time of 1:44.48. Joining Nosirov were Ka Ho Yeung, Jason Barrientos and Boyce.
For his performance against Purchase, Nosirov was named the CUNYAC Men's Swimming Performer of the Week, as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Men's Swimming Co-Swimmer of the Week.
