Vanessa D’Ambrosi Named Brooklyn College February Student-Athlete of the Month
Fifth-year senior Vanessa D’Ambrosi, a three-year member of the Brooklyn College Women’s Basketball team, had a solid month of February in helping to lead the Bulldogs to a 6-2 record in the month, including a runner-up finish in the 2015 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships.
Starting in all eight games in the month, D’Amrbosi averaged 14 points-per-game, while shooting 37% (37-for-100) from the field, including 44.4% (24-for-54) from three, and 70% (14-for-20) from the free throw line. The Brooklyn native also averaged 6.9 rebounds-per-game, 1.5 steals-per-game and 1.4 assists-per-game in the month.
D’Ambrosi had her best game of the month on February 11th against borough rival St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn), as she nailed eight three-pointers en route to 24 points. She also added nine rebounds.
The 2015 CUNYAC Second Team All-Star registered a double-double in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championships with 17 points and 13 rebounds on February 21st against York College and netted 20 points in a win over College of Staten Island in the CUNYAC Semifinals on February 24th.
