Valerie Vassilieva – The freshman all-purpose swimmer has had an exceptional start to her rookie campaign.  In the Bulldogs’ first win of the season against Old Westbury on Nov. 10, Vassilieva would win the 200-yard IM and help her 200-yard freestyle relay team to a first-place finish.  In the team’s second win in a row against York, she would win the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 6:01.73 and later on in the meet anchor her 200-yard freestyle relay foursome to a first-place finish.  Despite a team loss to Maritime on Nov. 24 to end the month’s meets, Vassilieva would win the 200-yard freestyle event with a time of 2:12.14 and help her 200-yard relay foursome to a first-place finish.  For her efforts at Maritime, she would be named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week.
