The senior outside hitter had an outstanding month of October helping the Bulldogs to the No. 2 seed in the CUNYAC Championships. Appel racked up team-high 171 kills for the month including a single-match BC career-high 25 kills in a 3-0 conference sweep of York on Senior Day (10/23/18) at the West Quad Center. In addition, she totaled 141 digs and 24 service aces in the ten matches played.  On October 15, Appel was named CUNYAC Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of CUNYAC tri-match sweeps of CSI and Medgar Evers, totaling 26 kills, seven service aces, and 11 digs.
