Timothy Mann has had an outstanding career as a member of the Brooklyn College Men’s Cross Country Team and this season may have been his best.
While fighting injury since late September, Mann started off the month of October with an outstanding performance at the College of Staten Island Invitational on October 4th at Van Corltland Park. The senior finished 3rd overall in the 8K run, beaten out only by two runners from Division II St. Thomas Aquinas. His time of 29:31 was over a minute better than the next conference competitor and a season’s best for Mann.
Mann then shined again on the grandest stage as he finished 3rd overall at the CUNYAC Championship 8K race, running a time of 29:43. It was Mann’s best finish in his three year’s of competing in the conference meet.
“I expected nothing less from Tim going into the season,” said Men’s Cross Country Coach Steve Podias. “He has shown himself to be a tremendous athlete during his career at Brooklyn College.”
Mann, a senior, will have to hang up his college singlet, however he has plans on continuing his running career and expanding to marathons.
