Priscilla Ramirez has seemingly started off the 2009-2010 season where she left off a year ago. In four games during November, the opening month of the basketball season, Ramirez scored double-figures in each, and eclipsed the 20-point plateau in three of those contests. On November 19th against NYU-Poly, she scored 26 points, while pulling down 11 rebounds. In her next outing, versus Elizabethtown, she netted a team-high 24 points. The following day, she had her lowest scoring output of the month, only tallying 11, however she also contributed with 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in a 67-52 win over Goucher College. In November’s final game, Ramirez scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on the road at Old Westbury.
“Priscilla has been outstanding so far this season,” said her coach Alex Lang. “Aside from her obvious skill, she has been working very hard to improve as a student, athlete and leader, and has been excelling at all three.”
The First-Team All-CUNYAC player in 2008-2009, received consideration for Preseason CUNYAC Player of the Year prior to this season. A physical education major, Ramirez graduated in the spring and is now in graduate school, concentrating on sports management. An exemplary student, Ramirez was honored by the CUNYAC a season ago as Scholar-Athlete of the Month for December.
