Timothy Mann just completed his first season of competitive cross country, but if you watched him at the CUNYAC Championships on October 28th you would never have known it. Tim finished 5th among all runners and first on his team with a personal best time of 30:25.5 in the 8K race. His finish helped lead the youthful Brooklyn College squad to a 2nd Place finish, a huge improvement over the 2006 squad that finished 8th place. Tim’s finish at the championships was not a surprise. Tim was one of the team’s most consistent runners all season and got even stronger as October started and the Championships approached. During the York College Invitational on October 7th, Tim finished 5th overall with a time of 31:57. Two weeks later, York hosted another meet, this time a 5K race, and Tim finished 5th again, with a time of 18:40. The former marine and Buffalo, NY native is in his first year at Brooklyn College and is studying exercise science. His coach and teammates have high expectations for him as he improved immensely throughout his rookie year.
