Freshman Justin Suarez (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Ford) has made an immediate impact to the 2010 Brooklyn College Men’s Cross Country team, as the rookie was the first BC runner to cross the finish line in all three of the Bulldogs meets during the month of September.
In the team’s season opener on Sunday, September 12th at the Baruch College Invitational, Suarez finished the 8K race with a time of 32:55, good for 33rd place overall in a field of 112 runners. Brooklyn would finish the 12-team invitational in eighth place.
The following Sunday at the Queensborough Community College Invitational, Suarez once again paced Brooklyn finishing the 8K course with a time of 32:52, good for 30th place in the field of 95 runners. The Bulldogs finished the nine-team invitational in fifth place.
At the Hunter College Developmental Meet on Sunday, September 26th, Suarez ran a personal best time of 31:45 to finish in 26th place in the field of 140 runners. Brooklyn would finish the 17-team meet in fifth place.
For his efforts, Suarez has been named the Brooklyn College Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of September 2010.
