Freshman Tara Diesel helped the Brooklyn College Softball team to an even 8-8 record in the month of April, including a 4-4 mark in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC). The Bulldogs will enter the upcoming conference tournament as the #4 seed, after going 8-5-1 in league play.
Diesel was a dual threat for BC at the plate and also in the circle, as she led the team in hitting with a .450 batting average (18-for-40), to go along with 15 RBI and 11 runs scored. She was also solid on the mound for the Bulldogs, making eight starts to post an even 4-4 record, tossing 46.1 innings, while allowing 26 walks and 41 runs (28 earned) on 54 hits, to go along with 37 strikeouts.
In a doubleheader sweep over conference rival York College on Monday, April 4th, Diesel went a combined 5-for-6 at the dish, with four RBI and two runs scored. She also pitched the second game of the twinbill, going the distance, allowing six hits, five runs (two earned), seven walks and seven strikeouts over seven innings.

Starting in the nightcap, Diesel allowed just two unearned runs on four hits; while striking out eight batters and walking two over seven innings of work.
