Sophomore Meagan Cranston played a key role in the Bulldogs success during the month of May, which saw the BC Softball team advance to Day Two of the CUNYAC Softball Championships for the first time in program history. Brooklyn would also earn a bid to the 2012 ECAC Metro Division III Softball Tournament.
Cranston batted .357 (5-for-14) in the month of May with one RBI and a run scored, to go along with a .438 on base percentage and a .357 slugging percentage.
Coming against the Lehman College Lighting in the First Round of the 2012 CUNYAC Championships on May 2nd, Cranston helped the #4 seed Bulldogs defeat the #5 seed Lightning, 7-1, after going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and run scored. The win propelled the Bulldogs into the double elimination round of the conference championships.
Later on in the month, on May 10th, Cranston had another multi-hit game going 2-for-3 in an opening round loss of the ECAC Metro Tournament to SUNY College at Old Westbury.
An Education Major, Cranston also excels in the classroom, as she boasts a 3.578 GPA.
For her efforts during the month of May, Meagan Cranston has been named the Brooklyn College Student-Athlete of the Month.
