Pajtim Gjonbalaj Named Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month for September
Junior Pajtim Gjonbalaj, a three-year member of the BC Men’s Soccer team, has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of September.
Gjonbalaj was an offensive scoring machine during the month of Septmber, as the product of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School scored five goals, three of which were game-winners, to go along with two assists.
During BC’s home opener on September 13th, Gjonbalaj assisted on two goals en route to Brooklyn’s 5-1 win over borough rival St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn), for the first win at the newly constructed Brooklyn College Field.
On September 17th, Gjonbalaj began a streak of four straight games with at least one goal scored. He began the streak with a two-goal performance against Berkeley College (NY), as the Bulldogs would go on cruise to a 6-0 win.
Gjonbalaj would later notch a goal against the City College of New York, York College and Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
His goals against Berkeley, York and NYU-Poly would all prove to be game-winning goals.
Gjonbalaj’s performance helped lead BC to a 5-4-2 overall record and a 1-1-2 mark in the CUNYAC during the month of September.
Gjonbalaj and the rest of the BC Men’s Soccer team will look to make a strong push during the month of October, as the Bulldogs will look to lock up a high seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Men’s Soccer Championships.
