Senior Antonio Gaspar has dominated the diving events for the Brooklyn College Men’s Swimming and Diving team in the first month of the season.
Gaspar, a transfer from the College of Staten Island, has made an immediate impact in his second season with the Bulldogs.
Coming in BC’s first meet of the season against Baruch College on November 12th, Gaspar posted first place finishes in both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter Dives. Coming in the 1-Meter event, Gaspar took first place with an overall score of 121.25. Later on in the 3-Meter dive, he again took top honors with an overall score of 139.90. He was also a part of the 200-Yard Medley Relay team that came in third place with a time of 2:16.89.
Against Old Westbury November 16th, Gaspar once again took first in both the 1 and 3-Meter Diving events. In the 1-Meter Dive, Gaspar took first with an overall score of 139.28. He would later take first place in the 3-Meter event with a score of 180.60.
Gaspar, who posted a first place in the 1-Meter Dive at the 2009 CUNYAC Championships, en route to being named a CUNYAC All-Star and a first place finish in the 3-Meter Dive at the 2010 CUNYAC Championships en route to setting a conference record with 346.40 points, as a member of the CSI Dolphins, will be an integral part of the Bulldogs championship aspirations in 2012-2013.
For his efforts in November, Gaspar has been named the BC Male Student Athlete of the Month.
