Kavon Baker Named Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month for December
Senior forward Kavon Baker has been the catalyst of the Brooklyn College Men’s Basketball team during the first two months of the season, leading the squad in numerous categories, including scoring, assists and steals.
Baker, a three-year member of the BC Men’s Basketball program, averaged 19.2 points, 4.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game, while starting in all five games played in the month averaging 37.4 minutes per game. The Bulldogs posted a 2-3 record in December.
Coming in Brooklyn’s first game of the month against the College of Staten Island on December 1st, Baker netted a career-high 27 points playing in all 40 minutes.
On December 3rd against Fairleigh Dickinson University-College at Florham, Baker lead the team to a 73-67 victory with 18 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Baker dropped another 18 points on December 6th against York College and netted 16 points in a 75-71 win against borough rival Medgar Evers College on December 11th.
In BC’s final game of the month on December 29th, Baker finished with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Within the NCAA Division III, Baker ranks 15th in steals-per-game, 68th in points-per-game and 69th in assists-per-game.
For his efforts during the month of December, Kavon Baker has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month.
