Steven Grant Named Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month – January
Senior forward Steven Grant, a four-year member of the Brooklyn College Men’s Basketball team, is having another solid season as he looks to help lead the Bulldogs to another City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) championship.
Grant was a key reserve on the 2009-2010 team that captured the CUNYAC championship and an automatic berth in the 2010 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament. Grant also played a key role in helping lead the 2011-2012 squad to a runner-up finish in the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Men’s Basketball Tournament.
During the month of January, Grant appeared in 10 of BC’s 11 games in the month, while making eight starts. Grant averaged 11.4 points per game shooting 41.9% (44-105) from the field and 77.8% (21-27) from the free throw line, to go along with 5.1 rebounds per game, while logging in 29.5 minutes per contest.
Grant scored in double figures in eight of the 10 games he played in and scored a month-high 17 points in a 62-58 win over conference rival Lehman College on January 5th to kick off the month.
Coming against borough rival St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn) on January 23rd, Grant finished with 12 points and eight rebounds to propel BC to an 85-76 victory.
For his efforts, Steven Grant has been named the BC Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of January.
