Women's Tennis Gets Another Win, Blanking St. Joe's 9-0

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (6-4) continued their successful season on Wednesday as they defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn 9-0.

St. Joe's put up a fight, especially at the top of the lineup, where it took a tiebreaker for Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwich/Brooklyn, NY) and Alina Binder (Flatbush Yeshiva/Brooklyn, NY) to knock off Jessica Litner and Annamaria Ciorciari at #1 doubles.

Perez also beat Litner 6-2, 6-2 at #1 singles while Binder downed Ciorciari, 6-4, 6-1 at #2.

Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy/Brooklyn, NY) came back from losing her first set to Tara Deahn to ultimately win the match in a third set tiebreak, 5-7, 6-4, (10-1).

Suzana Sula (St. Saviour/Staten Island, NY), Nadine Alexander (Boys & Girls/Brooklyn, NY) and Kate Steckiewicz (Jadwiga Borzecka/Brooklyn, NY) rounded out the lineup as they each won with relative ease.

The team will be back in action on Thursday as they take on CUNYAC opponent, City College of New York at 4:00 pm on the Roosevelt Courts.  With a win, the team will clinch 3rd Place in the conference regular season standings.
