Men's Soccer Goes To Overtime For Second Straight Game, Ties CCNY 1-1

New York, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer Team (2-9-1, 1-5-1 CUNYAC) played City College of New York (3-10-1, 3-3-1 CUNYAC) to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.

Brooklyn took 1-0 lead early in the second half as Vasilios Mantagas (James Madison/Brooklyn, NY) scored the games first goal.

Brooklyn could not keep the lead as CCNY tied the game with 3 minutes remaining in regulation. 

Both defenses stiffened during the overtime periods as the final score remained a 1-1 tie.  The outcome gives Brooklyn 4 points in the conference standings and moves them ahead of Hunter for the final spot in the upcoming CUNYAC Tournament.

Midfielders Jason Trotman (Fatima College/Brooklyn, NY) and Sedley Kinghorn (Canarsie/Brooklyn, NY), and defender Ilya Rukhman (Leon M. Goldstein/Brooklyn, NY) each had standout games for the Bridges.

Brooklyn will try to hold on to a playoff position and possibly even improve their season as they take on first place York on Wednesday, October 17th.
