Jamaica, NY---Brooklyns bid to upset #1 seed York came up short on Saturday as the team, down 1-0 in the second half could not convert on a game-tying goal as BC's Vasilios Mantagas (James Madison/Brooklyn, NY) was turned away on an amazing save by the York keeper, Marcin Kasza (Newcomers/Poland).

York was able to get a late goal from Michel Nicholas (Newtown/Port-au-Prince, Haiti) in the 80th minute as they clinched the 2-0 victory and advanced the the CUNYAC Semifinals on Wednesday to face Medgar Evers.

Brooklyn Goalie, Scott Geller (Morris Knolls/New York, NY), had 8 saves in the loss while York's Kasza had 4 saves.

While Brooklyn did not reach their season's goal of a CUNYAC Championship, they did improve on a sluggish start and should be a force in 2008 if their youthful squad continues to develop.
