BC Men Fall Short In Bid To Knock Off Old Westbury

Old Westbury, NY---The Brooklyn College Men got 20 points from transfer guard Daniel Nisbett (Petrides/Staten Island, NY) and 18 points from freshman center Enes Purisic (William C. Bryant/Astoria, NY), but it was not enought to knock of Old Westbury, as they host school defeated BC, 70-67.

The loss places Brooklyn in the consolation game of Old Westbury's Tip-Off Tournament where they will face Greenboro College at 2:00 pm on Sunday.

Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep/Queens, NY) chipped in with 10 points and 8 rebounds for BC who fall to 0-1 on the season.

Old Westbury (1-0) was led by Garthlette James (White Plains/White Plains, NY) who scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.  Old Westbury will face Plattsburgh in the tournament's championship game on Sunday at 4 pm.

After tomorrow's game, BC will be off for nine days until they return home on November 27th to face Polytechnic in their home opener at 7:30 pm.  The game will be the second half of a doubleheader as the BC Women will face the Polytechnic Women at 5:00 pm.
