Purchase, NY-- The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (3-6) dropped a 88-48 decision at SUNY Purchase (4-4) on Monday night.
Brooklyn kept it close in the early going, trailing by three points eight minutes into the game. The Panthers then erupted on a 20-3 run to pull away. The second half opens with a 20-6 Purchase spurt that sealed the win.
Four Panthers scored in double figures as Purchase led throughout the contest and held BC to less than 20 percent shooting form the floor. Jennifer Danio oured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Purchase. Jesse Domes added 17, while Amanda Capone chipped in 15.
The Bridges were paced by senior guard Jaclyn Cavalcante (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY), who scored 14 points. Junior Amalea Sideris recoreded a double-double, netting 13 points to complement her 11 rebounds. First year player Joelle Laurenceau (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) recored nine caroms and blocked one shot.
The Bridges take a break for final exams and holiday celebrations before returning to action on Saturday December 29 at SUNY Old Westbury.
