Brooklyn Stages Comeback But Falls To John Jay In OT

Queens, NY---The Brooklyn College Soccer Team (0-6, 0-3 CUNYAC) made an awesome comeback on Wednesday as they were down 2-0 in the first half, and scored two consecutive goals to send the game into overtime.  They could not keep momentum in the extra period as John Jay (4-4-1, 2-0-1 CUNYAC) went on to win 3-2.

John Jay began the game's scoring as Oscar Garcia (St. John's Prep/East Elmhurst) converted on two goals, one in the 23rd minute and another in the 34th minute. 

Brooklyn came right back as Sedley Kinghorn (Canarsie/Brooklyn, NY) scored off a deflection in the 38th minute, as John Jay took a 2-1 lead into the break.

Vasilios Mantagas (James Madison/Brooklyn, NY) tied the game at two in the game's 62nd minute on a goal assisted by Natan Loyfman (James Madison/Brooklyn, NY) and Ardit Cela (New Utrecht/Brooklyn, NY).

In the overtime period Joceny Theresias (Metropolitan/St. Louis Du Nord, Haiti) took a centering pass from Andres Llanos (Newtown/Cuenca, Ecuador) and beat Brooklyn goalkeeper Scott Geller (Morris Knolls/New York, NY).

Brooklyn will return to action on Wednesday, September 26th as they travel to SUNY Purchase for a 4:30 pm game.
