Brooklyn Women Win 2nd Straight As They Cruise To 7-2 Over CSI

Staten Island, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (8-3, 6-2 CUNYAC) swept all three doubles matches and never looked back as they defeated Staten Island (5-9, 3-4 CUNYAC) on Saturday by a score of 7-2

The most competitive of the doubles matches was at #1 where Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwick/Brooklyn, NY) and Nadine Alexander (Boys & Girls/Brooklyn, NY) overcame an early deficit to defeat CSI's duo of Gabriella Villarruel (Curtis/Staten Island, NY) and Taylor Moran (Tannersville, PA) , 8-6

Perez went on to defeat Villarruel 6-0, 6-0 in her #1 singles match, making her undefeated in CUNYAC #1 singles play on the week. Perez defeated counterparts from Baruch and Lehman earlier in the week.

Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy), Alexander and Erika Gil (Fort Hamilton/Brooklyn, NY) each won their singles matches in straight sets to seal the victory for BC.

The Brooklyn Women, who are on a two-match win streak, will be home on Tuesday as they host the first-place Hunter College squad at 4:00 pm.
