Box Score

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (8-4, 6-2 CUNYAC) narrowly dropped a tough conference decision to first-place Hunter College (10-3, 8-0 CUNYAC) 5-4.

Hunter won two of three doubles flights, as the tandem of Elizabeth Feldman (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) and Stefanie Smith (Cardozo / Little Neck, NY) defeated the BC pair of Ruth Perez (EBC / Brooklyn, NY) and Olezandra Ovsiy (American / Dnepropetrusek, Ukraine) 8-5 at Number One Doubles.  The Bridges doubles triumph came in the Number Two flight, as Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy / Brooklyn, NY) and Erica Gil (Fort Hamilton / Brooklyn, NY) downed Anna Vagner (Tottenville / Staten Island, NY) and Hannah Ferenczy (Coxsackie-Athens / Coxsackie, NY) 8-3.

Rotstein, Nadine Alexander (Boys and Girls / Brooklyn, NY) and Svetlana Khatikova (Youth DARES / Brooklyn, NY) were victorious at Number Three, Four, and Six singles respectively.  With the match tied at 4-4, the outcome hinged on the result of the Number Five singles match between Bomi Park (Younghoon / Astoria, NY) and Gil.  Gil took the first set 6-3, while Park rallied to earn the second set 6-4.  In the deciding third set, Park won six straight games, sealing the victory for the Hawks, who remained unbeaten in CUNYAC Play.

The Bridges travel to Bronville, NY on Wednesday October 15th to battle Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference match.  The first serve is set for 5:00 pm.
