Bronxville, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (8-5, 6-2 CUNYAC) lost a non-conference match at Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 6-3.
The Number One Doubles Flight was the most exciting match of the afternoon as the Bridges tandem of
Ruth Perez (EBC /Brooklyn, NY) and
Nadine Alexander (Boys and Girls / Brooklyn, NY) battled to a 7-7 stalemate to force a tie-breaker against the pair of Georgia Bendat and Sarah Morris. The Sarah Lawrence team took the tie-breaker 7-4, and the flight 8-7.
The Bridges lone doubles triumph came in the Number Three Flight, as
Svetlana Khatikova (Youth DARES / Brooklyn, NY) and
Ogechi Egbuchulam (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) downed the Gryphons pair of Marie Barnevik-McKenzie and Emily Zemba 8-5.
In singles action, Perez rolled over Bendat 10-2 at Number One Singles and
Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy / Brooklyn, NY) picked up a hard-fought win over Morris at Number Two Singles.
