BC Soccer Falls To Purchase, 2-1

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer Team (3-4-1) could not get a victory over non-conference opponent Purchase College (3-4) on Thursday as the team lost a 2-1 decision.

The Panthers struck first, scoring in the 28th minute as Cole Charbonneau placed a direct kick past BC's Azad Kafarov (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) for the 1-0 advantage.  Purchase struck again early in the second half as Daniel Grabowski-Clark headed a long cross from Patrick Martin into the upper-left coner of the net, giving the visitors a 2-0 advantage.

Vasilios "Billy"  Mantagas (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) got the Bridges on the board in the game's 69th minute, cutting Purchase's lead to 2-1. As he converted a Vasyl Palinchak (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) pass from 15 yards out.  Brooklyn had several chances to tie the game in game's closing minutes, but put nothing else past Purchase keeper David Kurzuiel.

Brooklyn will be back in action on Saturday at the Metropolitan Oval as they take on conference rival Baruch at 3:00 pm. More on today's game as well as the team's game on Saturday will be available over the weekend.
