Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball Team (7-13, 2-7 CUNYAC) dropped a straight set decision to York College (7-18, 3-6 CUNYAC). The Bridges lost by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-17. Prior the first set, seniors Jasmine Thimothe (Samuel J. Tilden / Brooklyn, NY) and Yamalete Rosa (Abraham Lincoln / Brooklyn, NY) were honored for their committment and decication to the BC Women's Volleyball program.
Both seniors played well in defeat, in what was the final home match of their collegiate careers. Thimothe recorded six kills, scored a pair of service aces and passed five digs. Rosa had a team-high 12 digs and also chipped in with two service aces. Kerry-Ann Burton (Harry S Truman / Bronx, NY) led the Bridges with nine kills, while Rosaura Arias (Theodore Roosevelt / Bronx, NY) led the squad with 15 assists.
York was paced by junior Shanine Bogan (Clara Barton / Brooklyn, NY) who hit nine kills in 20 attempts. Senior Ashley Willock added a match-high of 19 digs in the match.
This was the final regular season match for the Bridges, who have locked up the number eight seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Playoffs.
