Bridges Fall at CCNY in Women's Volleyball Quarterfinal

New York, NY --- The eighth-seeded Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball Team (7-14, 2-7 CUNYAC) dropped a straight-set decision to top-seeded City College of New York (22-11, 9-0 CUNYAC) in the quarterfinal round of the 2008 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Tournament.  The Bridges lost by scores of 25-4, 25-11, and 25-19.

Junior Kerry-Ann Burton (Harry S Truman / Bronx, NY) led the way for the Bridges, tallying four kills and six digs. Classmate Rosaura Arias (Theodore Roosevelt / Bronx, NY) recorded a team-high 10 assists and scored a pair of service aces.  Freshman Caitlin McMullen (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) set a career-high with three solo blocks in the match.

For the Beavers, Sophomore middle blocker, Melissa Blass (Oneonta / Oneonta, NY) tabbed a game-high total of 10 kills, and added two digs.  CCNY will advance to play in the CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Semifinals, which will be held on November 7th at Hunter College.
