Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men (20-5, 10-3 CUNYAC) picked up their 20th win of the season as they knocked of CCNY (4-21, 2-11 CUNYAC) on Senior Day, 80-58.
The Bridges raced out to an impressive 25-2 lead in the game's first seven minutes and led by as many as 34 points in the opening stanza. Brooklyn shot 57.9 percent from the floor in the first half, including a scintilating 7-for-11 (63.6 percent) from three point range. The Brooklyn defense was stellar throughout the game, forcing 28 turnovers. BC dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Beavers 42-22.
Corey McFarlane (Transit Tech / Brooklyn, NY), the team's only senior and starting point guard, was the star of the game, scoring 20 points, while dishing out four assists and nabbing four steals.
Sean Weismuller (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) had one of his best games with BC, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 boards.
Froilan Vazquez (Cardinal Spellman / Bronx, NY) led CCNY with 22 points.
With the win, Brooklyn clinched a first place tie and will face either Lehman College or the New York City College of Technology on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Roosevelt Gymnasium in the first round of the CUNYAC / Con Edsion Basketball Tournament.
