Softball Can't Come Back In Home Opener

Box Score

Brooklyn, NY---The BC Softball squad (0-3) dropped their home opener at Floyd Bennett Field on Thursday afternoon as they fell to St. Elizabeth (5-7) by a score of 10-6.

Brooklyn had a chance in the bottom of the seventh as they brought up the tying run with the bases loaded but were not able to come all the way back .

Jaime Bellettini (Franklin K. Lane/Glendale, NY) lost her second decision on the young season as she worked a complete game.

Leading the way for the Brooklyn's offense was Nataly Yehezkel (James Madison/Brooklyn, NY) who had two hits while scoring two runs and driving in one.  Also having a good game was freshman Ashley Allen (WC Bryant/Sunnyside, NY) who had one hit and scored two runs.

In the scheduled second game, Nicole Bianco (FDR/Brooklyn, NY) worked the pitcher's circle and only allowed 1 run in 3 innings, but the game was called due to darkness with Brooklyn leading 2-1.  Because only 2 1/2 innings were played the game was not official.

Brooklyn will travel to Hunter tomorrow for their first CUNYAC game before returning home on Monday to take on New Rochelle in a pair on the Roosevelt Field.
