Flushing, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis Team (6-1, 4-0 CUNYAC) defeated John Jay College (3-4, 2-2 CUNYAC) by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Bridges took two of three doubles flights and five of six singles flights in winning their sixth straight match .
The tandem of Elliot Hirsch (Yeshiva of Flatbush / Brooklyn, NY) and Morris Dweck (Yeshiva of Flatbush / Brooklyn, NY) set the tone for the Bridges, as they posted an 8-4 victory at Number One Doubles. Kristoffer Flores (Ozone Park, NY / St. Francis Prep) and Arvind Badhey (Syosset / Syosse, NY) teamed up to win their doubles encounter as well.
In singles competition, Ben Forberg (Marymount / Brooklyn, NY) was victorious in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 at Number Two Doubles. That began a run of five consecutive triumphs for BC in the singles flights. Dweck, Metin Noorata (Abraham Lincoln / Brooklyn, NY), Johnny Rolando (Abraham Lincoln / Brooklyn, NY), and Nam Nugyen (Vietnam / Brooklyn, NY) all won their respective matches to power the Bridges to their sixth consecutive win.
Up next for the Bridges will be a CUNYAC match against City College of New York on Thursday, April 10. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
