Brooklyn Ties Hunter In CUNYAC Battle Of Unbeatens

Maspeth, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer Team (2-1-1, 1-0-1 CUNYAC) stayed undefeated in conference play as they battled Hunter (4-4-1, 1-0-1 CUNYAC) to a 1-1 tie on Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind 1-0 late in the second half, Elis Llagami (Franklin D. Roosevelt  / Brooklyn, NY) broke loose and put a shot on goal that bounced off Hunter keeper Noah Fessler (Metuchen, NJ  /Metuchen).  Brooklyn sophomore Vasyl Palinchak (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) tracked down the carom and sent it past Fessler to tie the game.

While both teams had some chances to score in 20 minutes of overtime play, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.  Junior goalkeeper Michael Conway (Xaverian / Brooklyn, NY) had nine saves in his first start of the season.

The tie places Brooklyn in a third place tie in the conference standings with Hunter as both teams trail York and CCNY who are each 2-0.

Brooklyn hosts Centenary on Monday at 4:00 pm at Kingsborough Community College before their big showdown with defending CUNYAC champion York College on Wednesday.
