Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (4-1) won their fourth consecutive match on Thursday evening as they defeated New Rochelle, 9-0. It was the team's fourth win in the last nine days, a great stretch for first-year coach Lya Kushnirovich and her young squad.
Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwick / Brooklyn, NY) won her #1 singles match over CNR's Christine Locke, 6-2, 6-3, while also teaming up with Olexandra Ovsiy (Ukrainian American / Brooklyn, NY) to defeat Locke and Siddiqua Hosein, 8-1 at #1 doubles.
Ovsiy knocked off Hosein 6-3, 6-0 at #2 singles, bringing her season singles mark to 4-1.
Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy / Brooklyn, NY), Erika Gil (Fort Hamilton / Brooklyn, NY), Svetlana Khvatikova (Youth DARES / Brooklyn, NY) and Nadine Alexander (Boys & Girls / Brooklyn, NY) each won their singles matches in straight sets.
The team will be back to conference action tommorow, Friday, September 26th, as they travel to John Jay for a 3:30 pm start.
