Women's Basketball Can't Knock Off Defending Champs, Drop Second Conference Game

New York, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (13-5 / 6-2 CUNYAC) built a 14-7 lead four minutes into the game but could not keep the lead as Baruch (13-5 / 7-0 CUNYAC) took a 22-20 lead with 9:55 to go in the first half and would not relinquish it for the remainder of the game, winning a 94-73 final on Friday night.

For BC, five players scored in double figures, led by Christina Belfiore (Staten Island Tech / Staten Island, NY), who had a team-high 18.  Amber Gordon (Bishop Loughlin / Brooklyn, NY) chipped in with 13 and Priscilla Ramirez (FDR / Brooklyn, NY) dropped in 12, while Justine O'Callahan (Floral Park / Floral Park, NY) and Amalea Sideris each scored 10.

Ramirez also had team-highs with 11 rebounds and 8 assists, nearly notching a triple-double.

Baruch also had five in double figures as they were led by sophomore Lorin Clarke (Bishop Ford / Brooklyn, NY) who scored 21.

Brooklyn will return home for the first time in over three weeks as they take on Bard College on Thursday January 29th at 7:00 pm.
