Bridges Blanked in Final CUNYAC Match

Box Score

The Men's Soccer team (4-9-2, 2-5-2 CUNYAC) was defeated in their final conference game of the season, 3-0, by the Hunter College Hawks (6-10-1, 6-3 CUNYAC) at the Aviator. For the Bridges, they were shutout for the third time in as many games.

Prior to the match, senior Jean Menesky Magloire (Clara Barton / Brooklyn, NY) was honored by Head Coach Rawle Hensford and his teammates.

The match itself began as a defensive battle, with both teams denying their opponents scoring opportunities. However, Hunter finally broke through in the 32nd minute, when Anthony Intrbaratolo (Christ the King / Glendale, NY) found the back of the net after a pass from Mauro Ortiz (EBC Bushwick / Brooklyn, NY). A minute and a half later, Saif Zureikat (Cardozo / Amman, Jordan) scored on an uncontested shot to put Hunter up 2-0.

The Hawk tandem of Alexandre Ilic (Miami Killian Senior / Miami, FL) and Murtaza Munir (Benjamin Banneker Academy / Staten Island, NY) in goal kept BC silent for the match. Mario Rojas (Yorktown / Pereira, Colombia) added Hunter's third and final goal of the match at the 59:57 mark after a pass from Andreas Kaplaxis (Townsend Harris / Glendale, NY).

Azad Kafarov (Madison / Brooklyn, NY) recorded nine saves in goal for the Bridges.

BC will travel to the College of Old Westbury on Sunday, October 25 at 1:00 pm for the final match of the regular season.
